Frequently Asked

How do I register as a Quantity Surveyor with ZIQS?

Visit our “Membership” section for a step-by-step guide, requirements, and downloadable forms. You can register as a student, graduate, or practising Quantity Surveyor depending on your qualifications.

Is ZIQS registration different from EIZ?

Yes. ZIQS is the statutory professional body specifically for Quantity Surveyors under the ZIQS Act No. 19 of 2024. Registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is separate and usually applies to engineers and allied professionals.

How can I get involved in ZIQS activities?

Members can engage by joining technical or administrative committees, attending national events, writing for publications, or supporting outreach and mentorship programs. Opportunities are shared via official announcements and the ZIQS website.

Can I register if I studied Quantity Surveying abroad?

Yes. If your qualification is recognized by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) or an equivalent international body, ZIQS will assess your credentials for appropriate membership.

What are CPD points and why are they important?

CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points are earned through approved training and capacity-building activities. They are essential for staying current in the profession and are mandatory for renewal of practising certificates.
